APSR represents Oman at high-level GCCIA meeting

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR), participated in the 55th meeting of the Advisory and Regulatory Committee of the GCC Electricity Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), which was held in Qatar. Heading Oman’s delegation was Shaikh Dr. Mansour bin Talib al Hinai, Chairman – APSR.

Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation among the GCC member states, evaluating the performance of GCC interconnection during the first five months of the year.

Additionally, there were deliberations on proposed amendments to the general agreement and the energy exchange and trade agreement, with the aim of facilitating energy trading within the Gulf market. The meeting also encompassed the review of the support plan and the development of the advisory and regulatory committee. Furthermore, projects pertaining to expanding the GCCIA network through linkages with the networks of some member countries were also addressed.
